SUPPLIES

  • Crochet hook G/4.00 mm
  • Yarn needle (I recommend Clover Chibi Bent Tip Needle Set)
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • 6mm safety eyes
  • Worsted weight yarn, I used the following colors:
    • Red Heart Super Saver, Bright Yellow, White & Black

 NOTES

  • Please read through the entire pattern before you start.
  • Finished size: approximately 1.8” wide (not counting wings) x 5.1” length
  • Please embroider the eyes and nose if giving bee to young children or pets, as safety eyes can pose as a choking hazard. You may also cut out small circles from felt and stick on the bee with hot glue.
  • Color change:
    • When working color changes, do not cut the yarn. Simply drop the first color you are not using, switch to the second color and pick up first color again when you need it during the subsequent rows/rounds.

With yarn needle, sew antennae on top of bee’s head.

Next, sew on the wings. First secure the hind wings on bee, then secure the forewings on top of each hind wing, angle it a little so that it overlaps, but not on top of each other (see photo for reference).

Optional: add blushing cheeks with pink fabric marker or fabric paint.

Enjoy the bee-utiful day with the bee-utiful bees! ♥
